A non-update UPDATE :-)

We had our 37 week appointment with Dr. Murphy on Thursday. I'm 2 cm dilated and 60% effaced, and he said he thinks we'll be having this baby in the next week! I'm really not holding my breath though, since I know they really have no way of telling for sure. Dr. M is going to be out of town this weekend starting on Thursday, so this week we're meeting with Dr. Carlson, the doc who will be on-call this weekend just in case. We're both feeling pretty ready to finally have the baby out and in the real world...never thought I'd really be saying that I'm looking forward to labor, but I'm at the point where things are pretty cramped and uncomfortable! I think it's Mother Nature's way of making you willing to endure hours of labor pains!

Now THAT'S a baby... :o)

...a BIG baby that is! Drew and I went in for a 36 week ultrasound this morning, and things looked good. It's still a boy! The baby is measuring at about 38 weeks, with his head being very round and measuring even further ahead at 39+ weeks. Ouch!!! Based on the measurements, the guesstimated unofficial due date is February 20th--not far off from Drew's February 18th guess. The 20th is also a full moon, so I'm sure it would make for an interesting birthing center experience! I've heard that a lot of near full term ladies go into labor on the full moon. Also, the estimated current weight is 6 lbs 15 oz, so we're betting on an 8+ pounder...Can't wait to see those chubby cheeks!
