First time at the beach

This weekend, we decided to make the most of the Memorial Day off and head to Newport, a beach town on the central Oregon coast. We had a great time, and took Otis along too, who now has a new love: sand and the ocean!

Here are some pictures of Owen and the aquarium. He especially liked to watch the anchovies swimming in schools, and the shark exhibit was amazing!

What else do you do in the ocean if you don't pee in it?...he also went #2, but shhhhhhhhh, don't tell anyone!!! :-)


It was COLD and WINDY, but we toughed it out, and Owen even fell asleep during the walk on the beach!

Yesterday we went to watch our friend Megan compete in her first horse show. Owen got to check it all out from his big-boy stroller that he transitioned into a few days ago. Then last night I walked into the bedroom and found the boys "chillin'" together in bed. Too funny! :o)

PPP

Today was the Pole Pedal Paddle (PPP) here in Bend. Drew was on a team with some of our alley neighbors...he competed in the cross country ski leg in 90 degree weather! After a few falls and some bloody scrapes on his legs, he finished and was able to make it to the after party celebration at the Les Schwab Amphitheater. :-) Oh, and did we mention that it was in the 90's here??? It was HOT...so here are some pictures of the team and Owen with his buddy Mary:

Owen and mommy went to Portland for a couple of days for a quick visit. Owen got to meet some more cousins of Allison's and his Grandpa Roger. Here are some pictures of their trip:
